Animal shelter Tenerife (Sabine) Update April 20, 2026: Perla has 11 new photos and a new video. This gentle girl is looking for a family that wants to adopt her and let her flourish further. Update April 2, 2026: Perla was able to go on an extra special walk this weekend. So far, her daily walks were around the animal shelter in mountainous terrain and to the large play field where she could run freely. This time we went by car, which was new! And to a totally new place for her. Perla behaved impeccably. It was really a pleasure to take her. She loved it! Her uncertainty was nowhere to be found, she was curious and even adventurous. She paid good attention to us and also looked up friend Resa for support to understand what was coming next. Perla walked very politely alongside us, letting new impressions gently come over her and really spent the whole day with her tail wagging, carefully but happily exploring everything. She kept coming back on the long line to check in with us, to get a cuddle or something nice to then happily continue "hopping" on. We really enjoyed ourselves. Upon returning, it was also beautiful to see how she tiredly and satisfied walked back to her familiar spot, where after having a little water she went to lie down and happily slept for hours dreaming about the wonderful adventures of the day. What a sweetie she is. This dear one will surely become a lifelong companion with her soft but cheerful personality, a valuable addition to home and heart! + a new video and 8 new photos added. Input January 20, 2026: Perla is very outgoing, affectionate and cuddly with people. She seeks closeness, enjoys attention and is exceptionally gentle and loving towards her caregivers. Her hunting instinct is not very pronounced yet. However, like many Podencos, this may change in the coming weeks or months as she feels more at home, gains more confidence and becomes more open. Therefore, good training and sufficient attention in daily life are important. During her familiar walks, Perla already walks confidently and calmly. In new environments, however, she is still somewhat reserved and unsure, but she remains well oriented towards her humans. With patience, calmness and clear guidance, she will gain more confidence. We are looking for a home for Perla where her sensitive, gentle character is valued, where she gets the time to adjust and where she is guided calmly but consistently through new situations. A confident dog already in the house can be useful, but must be socially balanced and not dominant.

Asiel Tenerife (Sabine) Update 20 april 2026: Perla heeft 11 nieuwe foto's en een nieuwe video. Dit zachtaardige dotje is op zoek naar een familie die haar wilt adopteren en waar ze verder mag gaan floreren. Update 2 april 2026: Perla mocht mee met een extra speciale wandeling dit weekend. Tot nu toe waren haar dagelijkse wandelingen rondom het asiel in berggebeid en naar de grote speelweide waar ze heerlijk los kon rennen. Deze keer gingen we weg met de auto, dit was nieuw! En naar een totaal nieuwe plek voor haar. Perla deed het voorbeeldig. Het was echt een genot om haar mee te nemen. Ze vond het geweldig! Haar onzekerheid was ver te zoeken, ze was nieuwsgierig en zelfs ondernemend. Ze lette goed op ons en zocht ook vriendinnetje Resa op voor ondersteuning, om te begrijpen wat er ging komen. Perla liep heel netjes mee, ze liet nieuwe indrukken rustig over haar heen komen en heeft echt de hele dag met haar staart kwispelend alles voorzichtig maar vrolijk onderzocht. Ze kwam ook met de lange lijn steeds terug om even bij ons te checken, een knuffel of iets lekker te halen om dan weer vrolijk verder te "huppelen". We hebben echt genoten met zijn allen. Bij terugkomst was het ook mooi om te zien hoe ze moe en voldaan terug naar haar bekende plek liep, waar ze na een beetje water te drinken heerlijk is gaan liggen slapen om nog uren over de prachtige avonturen van de dag na te dromen. Wat een lieve schat is het toch. Deze lieverd zal met haar zachte maar vrolijke karakter zonder twijfel een maatje voor het leven worden, een aanwinst in huis en hart! + een nieuwe video en 8 nieuwe foto's toegevoegd. Input 20 januari 2026: Perla is erg extravert, aanhankelijk en knuffelig met mensen. Ze zoekt nabijheid, geniet van aandacht en is uitzonderlijk zachtaardig en liefdevol naar haar verzorgers.Haar jachtinstinct is nog niet erg uitgesproken. Zoals bij veel Podenco's kan dit echter in de komende weken of maanden veranderen naarmate ze zich meer thuis voelt, meer zelfvertrouwen krijgt en zich meer openstelt. Een goede training en voldoende aandacht in het dagelijks leven zijn daarom belangrijk.Tijdens haar vertrouwde wandelingen loopt Perla al zelfverzekerd en rustig. In nieuwe omgevingen is ze echter nog wat terughoudend en onzeker, maar ze blijft wel goed georiënteerd op haar baasjes. Met geduld, rust en duidelijke begeleiding krijgt ze meer zelfvertrouwen.We zoeken een thuis voor Perla waar haar gevoelige, zachtaardige karakter wordt gewaardeerd, waar ze de tijd krijgt om te wennen en waar ze rustig maar consequent door nieuwe situaties wordt begeleid. Een zelfverzekerde hond die al in huis is, kan nuttig zijn, maar moet sociaal evenwichtig en niet dominant zijn.
