adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Philipe has found a home! His story: Wuschelkopf Philipe was found, like many of our other shelter companions, by our kind animal welfare worker Stefan on one of the lonely streets of Romania and saved. Now, the cute little fellow eagerly awaits a ticket to happiness, for he too wants to finally arrive, loved and cared for. Philipe is very friendly and people-oriented. Extremely friendly and lively, he allows petting and stroking. We still don't know if he ever had a family or how he ended up on the street. What we do know is that the white fluffy mouse is well-behaved on the leash and generally appears obedient and open. With his fellow animals, Philipe gets along well, although we currently don't know how he stands with cats. Given his size, it would be desirable if our male dog could enjoy extended walks, as he very much enjoys playing around. Currently, Philipe suffers from the cramped conditions in the kennel or the confinement on the chain. Unfortunately, the shelter offers little space – too many dogs are being taken in. Our dear Philipe wants to finally live with dignity and freedom, snuffling and running, what it means to be a loved dog. We believe that Philipe would feel very comfortable in a family, as he also gets along well with children. Could Philipe be your or your lifelong friend? His luggage is already packed. He brings his EU pet passport, is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, neutered, and can be fostered. This furry bundle would also be very happy with a foster home. This dog will be rehomed together with the organization Arme Hundeseelen Rumänien. The double posting on both organizations' sides and possibly on other platforms serves to increase his visibility and find him a suitable home more quickly. With the organization, there is a close exchange. Every inquiry for the dog is directly discussed and passed on. Thank you, Dora! You gave Philipe a special name and thus an identity. As of: 19.09.

Stand: 19.09.2025

About Philipe

What life with Philipe looks like

Philipe is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Philipe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Philipe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Philipe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Philipe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Philipe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Philipe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Philipe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
