Piasek

Male

PIASEK, approx. 2 years old, 616093903154369 (171/26) VACCINATIONS: YES BOX: 18 Piasek is a young, approximately 2-year-old pit bull-type dog. He is slender, handsome, and attracts attention with his unique black and white coat. He owes his name to the place where he was found - he came to us from the beach. In the first contact, Piasek may be a bit shy and needs a moment to trust a human. However, once he feels safe, he shows much more of his energetic and cheerful side. On a daily basis, he is rather calm, but as befits a young dog, he can get excited, get restless and let off steam. He is very strong and extremely agile, which is why he needs a caregiver who is aware of his capabilities and provides him with the right amount of exercise and wise guidance. Piasek walks well on a leash and gets along well in enclosed spaces. He is not stressed by cars or traffic. He is a fairly independent dog - he does not need a human attached to him all the time, but he can work together and establish contact with the caregiver. When it comes to other dogs, Piasek definitely has his sympathies and antipathies. He feels particularly good in the company of females, but he also has positive relationships with males. At the same time, he has several dog "enemies", so his contacts with other dogs should be carefully selected and always properly supervised. There is one more thing we want to check more closely - his reaction to a person from a distance. When the caregiver is close, Piasek cooperates and reacts to contact. However, from a greater distance, he sometimes does not react to the call. We do not yet know whether this is due to his independence and selective "listening" or something that is worth investigating in more detail. Piasek is not a dog for everyone. He needs a calm, consistent and aware person who will be able to make the most of his strength, energy and independence. In return, he can gain a unique, beautiful dog with whom you can build a really great relationship. Piasek is waiting for a person who will give him time, safety and a chance for his own home. If you are ready to meet Piasek and check if he can become your companion - contact us. We invite those interested in adopting Piasek to contact the shelter 58/522 37 80, (daily from)

PIASEK OK. 2 LATA 616093903154369 (171/26) SZCZEPIENIA: TAK BOKS: 18 Piasek to młody, około 2-letni pies w typie pitbula. Jest smukły, piękny i przyciąga uwagę swoim wyjątkowym czarno-białym umaszczeniem. Swoje imię zawdzięcza miejscu, w którym został znaleziony – trafił do nas z plaży. Nie stresują go samochody ani ruch uliczny. About Piasek

What life with Piasek looks like

Piasek is a adult dog waiting at Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk in Gdansk.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Piasek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Piasek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Piasek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Piasek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Piasek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Piasek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk early rather than rehoming privately; they know Piasek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
