Character: Initially shy, Pilou was rescued by our shelter and is now in their care. Along with other dogs (including Mopaganda, also up for adoption at our shelter), he lived in horrific conditions. They spent their entire days in transport boxes and were used for breeding. From this terrible life, Pilou still bears the scars of pressure sores, has dysplasia in both hips, and his teeth are in a deplorable state; he arrived with an oral abscess. Of course, we are taking care of him until he finds a family, but he will require a lot of care and time, both on the couch and in bed. If you are looking for a dog to take for walks, Pilou is not the one. However, if you are seeking a dog who will be close to you, grateful, and calm, he is the perfect match. In terms of character, he is a bit fearful because he has had no experience and has not been handled or interacted with people, but once he feels safe, he is extremely affectionate. He will need gentle training, as he knows nothing. If you have children, they must respect Pilou and his health condition. No games, no handling. Pilou will need almost nothing to be happy, just a family that knows how to care for his health and can offer him the rest and warmth he needs. Pilou on our forum!

Caractère: Timide au premier abord Pilou a été récupéré par le refuge suite à un sauvetage. Lui et d'autres chiens de la même race (qui ont été adoptés et sûrement très heureux aujourd'hui), vivaient dans des conditions horribles. Ils passaient leurs journées entières dans des boites de transport et servaient à la reproduction. De cette horrible vie, Pilou a gardé des cicatrices d'escarres désormais guéries, une dysplasie des deux hanches, des crocs dans un état déplorable que l'on fait enlever peu à peu, il est arrivé avec un abcès au palais. Il est bien soigné par nos vétérinaires qui vont solutionner cela au fur et à mesure. Pilou, nécessitera des soins et beaucoup de temps entre le canapé et le lit. Si vous cherchez un chien pour vous promener ce ne sera pas Pilou. En revanche, si vous cherchez un chien qui sera proche de vous, reconnaissant, calme, qui n'aura d'yeux que pour vous, ce sera bien lui. Niveau caractère, il est un peu craintif, parce qu'il ne connait rien (forcément une vie en boîte n'ouvre pas les horizons) et n'a pas été manipulé ou mis en contact avec des personnes, mais une fois qu'il est en confiance il est extrêmement affectueux. Il aura besoin d'une éducation bienveillante, car il ne sait rien. Si vous avez des enfants, il faudra qu'ils respectent Pilou et son état de santé. Pas de jeux, pas de manipulations. Pilou n'aura besoin de presque rien pour être heureux, simplement d'une famille qui sache prendre soin de sa santé et lui offrir tout le repos et la chaleur dont il a besoin. Pilou sur notre forum !
