Pippa

Poodle · Female · Adult · 4 years

30-09-26 Pippa is a very scared and nervous lady who has come into our care from a breeder. She is very worried about being handled and becomes stressed if we attempt to pick her up. She will try to jump from our arms and, because of this, we would consider her a flight risk and she will need fencing of at least 6ft in her new garden to keep her safe. She will need very careful handling and adopters who understand just how frightened she is at the moment. Pippa gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws. As Pippa has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be very patient and give her time to adjust to all the new sights, sounds and experiences that come with living in a home. Pippa will need a quiet, confident, adult-only home where she can relax and settle into her new surroundings without too much hustle and bustle. Her adopters will need to have ex-breeding experience and understand her nervous nature and allow her to progress at her own pace. Pippa is a very worried girl right now, but with the security of a kind canine companion and a calm, patient family, we hope she will slowly begin to feel safe and gain the confidence she needs to enjoy her new life. Pippa has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Pippa

What life with Pippa looks like

Pippa is a adult poodle dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pippa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pippa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pippa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pippa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pippa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pippa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pippa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
