Adopt Piton

English Bulldog · Male · Adult · 6 years

Origin Country: Hungary We have a DNA breed determination on file. The beautiful Piton was wandering around the parking lot of the Auchan shopping center on November 13, 2024, homeless. Fortunately, the Menhely was informed, and Piton was picked up immediately. He was clearly happy about his rescue and willingly got into the car. Upon arrival at the animal shelter, a chip was searched for, but unfortunately, it was not found. Calls on the radio and on Facebook also went unanswered by anyone for Piton, no one missed him. For us, always a mystery, but for Piton, a chance at a loving and competent home where he will never be left behind. Piton is a friendly, active, dynamic, and curious fellow who has adapted quite well to his new situation. The animal shelter is likely better than his previous life... but it can be even better. He is happy when given time and attention, which was a lack in his previous life, and he looks forward to cuddles and affection. Piton is in his prime and wants to be mentally and physically challenged and supported. However, at the beginning, he also needs to learn and solidify his basic obedience and work closely with his people. But he is a clever fellow, and it will surely be fun working and training with him. He walks well on a leash but still has room for improvement. Currently (January 22, 2025), he does not get along well with his fellow animals and wishes for a home where he can be a prince. For our wonderful Piton, we are looking for dog-experienced, sporty, and adventure-loving people who can give Piton a varied and exciting life with clear leadership and where he can make up for lost time. With a strong family connection, dog training classes, long walks, sporting activities, play, fun, peace, and lots of cuddles and love would make Piton very happy. Whom should Piton give his heart to? January 22, 2025: And a Hungarian animal caretaker writes: Piton is nice, loves people, but does not get along with other dogs. July 20, 2025: A volunteer, Hungarian helper writes: "Since November 2024, Piton has been living in the animal shelter. Thanks to his engaged mentor, he was able to experience his first real walk – and it was a great success! Although he had never seen his mentor before, he was immediately open and trusting. Piton is a people-oriented, loving, and friendly dog. He loves being near people, enjoys every pat, and can't get enough of it. On the leash, he is attentive and well-behaved, responds well to signals, and shows interest in other dogs. Curious and eager to learn, he enjoys every minute outside – a happy, active dog with great potential." Piton is travel-ready. Since Piton is a staff mix, you need to inform yourself about the housing conditions in your community if you are interested in her.

About Piton

What life with Piton looks like

Piton is a adult english bulldog dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Piton, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Piton?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Piton on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Piton if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Piton already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Piton isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Piton and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
