Rocky-14

Rottweiler · Male · Adult · 6 years

Origin Country: Hungary Rocky, the beautiful and wonderful dog, was found homeless on January 18, 2022, in Nagykörös, and reported to the animal shelter by attentive passersby. Rocky was immediately picked up. During the microchip check, they actually found something. The owners were informed, but unfortunately, they seem to have no interest in Rocky anymore, as he has never been picked up. Words fail to express the feeling. When Rocky was found, he had entropion (eyelid rolling) in his eyes, which was surgically corrected at the animal shelter. Rocky has power. He is attentive, friendly, and nice. He is very happy about cuddles and affection. He needs both mental and physical stimulation to continue developing into a loyal and wonderful companion. On the leash, he can already run quite well, but there is still room for improvement. He also needs to learn a few things from the dog ABC. He needs a loving but consistent upbringing so that his learning desire and temperament can develop in the right direction. Rocky is looking for a place as a single dog. For our active Rocky, we are looking for lovers and enthusiasts of this dog breed who love and appreciate their nature and character and engage with this dog breed. Dog training classes, long walks, sporting activities, many cuddles, and a full family connection would make Rocky’s heart sing. Rocky unfortunately does not get along with his fellow animals and is looking for a home as a single dog. A wonderful four-legged friend is looking for his own dog bed! A mentor wrote on February 7, 2024: "We were able to meet Rocky at a mentor day, and his mentors have delighted him with an exciting and interesting walk that he would need daily. Rocky is friendly and kind to people. Balanced, smart, intelligent. He was interested in everything and eagerly embarked on his journey. It was pleasant to lead on the leash, as he listened to his handler and did what they wanted. Typical Rottweiler. He needs loving but consistent training, and following boundaries and rules is important. He is task-oriented and needs daily exercise, long walks, and many activities. Rocky wants to move into a single-dog home, he is not good with other dogs. Rocky is waiting for his new owner, his family. He wants to move into his permanent, safe home where he will be treated with respect and love and will never be left again!" On February 8, 2025, a voluntary, Hungarian helper wrote: "Rocky is a friendly and handsome dog. He is happy to be near us humans. He walks beautifully on the leash and watches over us, and interacting with him is simple. Unfortunately, he does not get along with other dogs, so he can only be a single dog. Rocky has been waiting for 3 years to find the right person who appreciates the character traits of a Rotti—hardworking, obedient, confident, brave, friendly, clingy, and kind—and meets his exercise needs." On April 16, 2026, a voluntary, Hungarian helper wrote: "Rocky came into the care of the animal shelter in January 2022. He has therefore been here for 4 years, a very long time. Rocky is hopeful in his kennel, waiting for his new home and family. Rocky loves his caregivers and mentors. He has already been walked by several mentors. With them, he is very loving and friendly. He is very cuddly, enjoys, and seeks cuddles and affection during walks, and often snuggles up to his mentor. On the leash, he walks beautifully. He is active, lively, and full of energy. He enjoys every moment of the walks, likes to go for walks, sniffs a lot, and takes in new impressions. According to his profile, Rocky cannot live with other dogs. He wants to move into a new home as a single prince with a family. For the person who chooses him, he will be a loyal friend and a true companion." On May 7, 2026, a voluntary, Hungarian helper wrote: "He was incredibly gentle and sensitive for a Rottweiler! Wonderful dog!!!" Rocky is ready for travel. Since Rocky is a Rottweiler, you need to check the housing conditions in your community if you are interested in him. We sincerely thank Gamze Usta for taking over the sponsorship of Rocky!

About Rocky-14

What life with Rocky-14 looks like

Rocky-14 is a adult rottweiler dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rocky-14, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rocky-14?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rocky-14 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rocky-14 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rocky-14 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rocky-14 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rocky-14 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
