Pop

Female · Puppy · 1 month

Meet Pop our Cane Corso cross puppy! Pop arrived at Battersea after being brought into our care with her siblings from a partner rescue. We have no information on her history prior to her stay with us. Much like the other pups she came in with, Pop was initially a little worried on arrival, and has seemed to be the least confident of the trio but did warm up when given time to do so. Pop has shown to be a little sensitive to life around her, as she has likely had minimal exposure to life until now. Pop is looking for committed owners that can offer her the time and patience to help her thrive into a confident adult dog. As Pop is a Cane Corso cross, she will grow into a large, powerful dog meaning that training will need to be a priority from the get-go. She can go to owners with experience of owning a dog before, ideally some experience into guarding breeds, but some research into the breed would be sufficient. She has a history of having some squabbles with her siblings and a foster sibling, which is to be somewhat expected for his age. She could potentially live with a steady role model type dog that can help introduce her to the world around her and teach her some valuable skills. Pop can be quite a mouthy puppy at times, therefore she can live with teens and above who are able to read her body language appropriately, not forcing her to interact or overhandling her. Due to her age and vaccination status, a private garden is essential for toilet training and socialisation. Like any young pup, Pop will need guidance, training and plenty of enrichment as she grows, but she is a bright little dog with lots of potential. With the right support and patience, she is sure to grow into a fun and loving companion. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Pop, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Pop

What life with Pop looks like

Pop is a large puppy/kitten dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pop, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pop?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pop on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pop if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pop already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pop isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pop and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
