Preacher

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Preacher has found a home! 32549 Bad Oeynhausen. Preacher can travel to his foster home in January! His story: Fantanele, Romania. The little, cute Preacher is on the lookout for a home. He and his sister Sky are puppies from Jasmin. Jasmin is the mother of 7 puppies. It's hard to imagine what she and her babies went through. She gave birth to her puppies on the street. Someone then took them and had the mother spayed too soon and released her back on the street. It's hard to imagine how painful nursing must have been for her. When our helpers found them on the street, only Jasmin and her two puppies Sky and Preacher were left. All three are now in safety and are looking for their own home. Preacher and his sister Sky are still too young to travel, but they should not be left to grow up in the shelter. The two puppies are currently still with their mother, who takes very good care of her children. They haven't developed their own personalities yet. But they are typical puppy playful and like to be picked up, as can be seen from the photos. They get along well with other dogs, but cats have not yet been tested. Preacher currently weighs between 2.5 – 3 kg. His pink spots on the nose are a real looker. His mother Jasmin looks like a Labrador mix and also has a pink spot on the nose, so it could be that Preacher will have one too. The mother is 57 cm tall and weighs 25 kg, so it's expected that Preacher will be of medium size too. Preacher is looking for people who won't expect anything from him at first and will show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Sometimes a little mishap shouldn't be held against him and Preacher should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of cuddle time, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Somewhere down the line, the more challenging pubertal phase will also arrive. The hormone chaos turns the lives of these little rascals upside down. They "forget" often everything they have learned so far, and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to consistently – but lovingly – train. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Preacher can travel from the end of December. Then he will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He also has his EU pet passport in his luggage. After a positive Preacher has caught your interest? Even a foster home would be a start to create a leap into a protected life. Please help Preacher so that he doesn't spend the rest of his life in the shelter. Thank you Claudia D.! You have given Preacher his name and thus an identity.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Preacher hat ein Zuhause gefunden! 32549 Bad Oeynhausen.

About Preacher

What life with Preacher looks like

Preacher is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Preacher, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Preacher?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Preacher on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Preacher if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Preacher already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Preacher isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Preacher and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
