Pumpkin

Female · Young · 1 year

Pumpkin, estimated date of birth: October 2025. Pumpkin was taken into a vet's surgery after being found. No one came forward to claim her, so we were asked to take her in. She is a lovely rabbit—quite inquisitive and eager to come up to you for attention. We would like her to find a new home where she can be bonded with a neutered male rabbit for company of her own kind. We don't know if she was used to living indoors or outdoors previously, but we think she would be happy with either as long as she has plenty of space and attention. She has been vaccinated and spayed, and she has no known health concerns.

About Pumpkin

What life with Pumpkin looks like

Pumpkin is a young adult rabbit waiting at Windyway Animal Rescue in Macclesfield.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pumpkin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pumpkin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Windyway Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pumpkin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pumpkin if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a rabbit can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Windyway Animal Rescue what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Pumpkin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a rabbit comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Windyway Animal Rescue directly what is included and what Pumpkin still needs.
What happens if Pumpkin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Windyway Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pumpkin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
