adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Quincy has found a home! His story: Quincy traveled to his foster home in mid-September – a great blessing for the young male dog. The life in the dreary kennel, together with his sister, was frustrating and sad for him. Quincy is a medium-sized, sheepdog-like male dog with a sensitive nature. At first, he shows himself rather reserved and needs some time to build trust. But once his heart is won, he turns out to be a loving and affectionate companion who greatly enjoys the company of his people. Currently, Quincy still has difficulties in dealing with new people, as well as with house training and going for walks. Therefore, he is searching for experienced and patient people who can give him security, work calmly with him, and show him that the world is not so frightening. After a certain period of adjustment, a visit to a positively working dog training class could also be a beautiful support for him to further strengthen the bond between dog and human. Quincy is currently about six months old, 47 cm tall, and weighs around 10 kg. He is unlikely to grow much more. He gets along well with the female dog living in the household and shows himself generally compatible. Quincy is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He has his EU pet passport with him and can be adopted after a positive Wer Quincy gives him time, patience, and love, he will receive a loyal friend with a big heart. Would you like to meet Quincy and give him a home for life? A special thank you goes to Maja W., who gave Quincy her name sponsorship and thus a sense of identity. As of: 30.10.

Stand: 30.10.2025

About Quincy

What life with Quincy looks like

Quincy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Quincy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Quincy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Quincy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Quincy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Quincy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Quincy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Quincy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
