Rafiki is a Cyprus-white cat with strikingly large eyes. From her safe little spot, she keeps a close watch on the world. She needs time to build trust, but she seems to be discovering more and more that people are not as frightening as she first thought. With patience and a calm approach, we expect she can grow into a lovely house cat. Her estimated date of birth is 2 June 2024. Rafiki still likes to keep a bit of distance. If someone approaches her, she doesn't yet allow herself to be stroked. Even so, she is already taking small steps forward. She is increasingly staying nearby and watching with curiosity. For a shy cat who came to Hokazo as a stray, that is a wonderful start. At the moment, Rafiki lives in a room with other cats. This is going well. Still, she doesn't necessarily need a feline companion and may also be placed as the only cat. For Rafiki we are looking for a quiet home without young children. A family or owner who gives her the time to get to know them at her own pace suits her best. Those who don't try to stroke her right away, but simply sit calmly beside her and give her curiosity room, are most likely to earn her trust. Rafiki doesn't ask for a quick introduction, but for time. Whoever gives her that time will have the chance to watch her come out of her shell a little more with each passing day.

Rafiki is een cypers-witte poes met opvallend grote ogen. Vanuit haar veilige plekje houdt ze de wereld goed in de gaten. Ze heeft tijd nodig om vertrouwen op te bouwen, maar ze lijkt steeds meer te ontdekken dat mensen niet zo spannend zijn als ze misschien eerst dacht. Met geduld en een rustige aanpak verwachten we dat ze kan uitgroeien tot een fijne huiskat. Haar geschatte geboortedatum is 2 juni 2024. Rafiki houdt nog graag een beetje afstand. Als iemand haar benadert, laat ze zich nog niet aaien. Toch zet ze al kleine stapjes vooruit. Ze blijft steeds vaker in de buurt en kijkt nieuwsgierig toe. Voor een verlegen poes die als zwerver bij Hokazo binnenkwam, is dat een mooi begin. Op dit moment verblijft Rafiki samen met andere katten in een ruimte. Dat gaat goed. Toch hoeft ze niet per se een kattenmaatje te hebben en mag ze ook als enige kat worden geplaatst. Voor Rafiki zoeken we een rustig thuis zonder kleine kinderen. Een gezin of baasje die dat haar de tijd geeft om op haar eigen tempo kennis te maken, past beter bij haar. Wie haar niet meteen probeert te aaien, maar gewoon rustig naast haar zit en haar nieuwsgierigheid de ruimte geeft, maakt waarschijnlijk de meeste kans op haar vertrouwen. Rafiki vraagt geen snelle kennismaking, maar tijd. Wie haar die tijd geeft, krijgt de kans om haar steeds een stukje verder uit haar schulp te zien komen.
