Ralph

English Bulldog Β· Male Β· Puppy Β· 8 months

Ralph is a cheeky 8 month old English Bulldog. He is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. As he is still a typical youngster and full of beans, he is looking for a home where his new owners will continue with all of his training and they are experienced with Bulldogs. Ralph is great in the house. He isn’t destructive at all and can happily be left for a couple of hours at a time. He is a little scared of the hoover though. As he is used to having access to his own garden, he would like a secure garden in his new home. He is a good boy at the groomers and is happy to be bathed if he needs it. Ralph travels well in the car. He does currently struggle to allow you to put his collar on him before going for a walk, so this will need worked on. Out and about on his walks he does pull strongly when walking. He doesn’t have a good recall at the moment and would run over to unknown dogs if he wasn’t on the lead, so this will need worked on in his new home. He is friendly with other dogs on his walks and will happily run around and have a good play if the other dogs wants to join in. Ralph is very affectionate and has a very gentle nature. He will make a loving addition to a family, he just needs some guidance and training to help ensure he continues to grow up to be a well mannered boy. Our Welfare Team can offer help and support with training in his new home. Please apply if you feel you have a Ralph sized space in your home and are looking for a fun little dog. About Ralph

What life with Ralph looks like

Ralph is a puppy english bulldog dog waiting at Dog Aid Society of Scotland in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ralph, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ralph?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dog Aid Society of Scotland handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ralph on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ralph if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dog Aid Society of Scotland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ralph already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ralph isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dog Aid Society of Scotland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ralph and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
