RASMUS

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Hello, I’m Rasmus, about 2.5 years old, and a very special dog. My foster mom affectionately calls me her “giant lion cub”—because of my gorgeous, lion-colored coat and because I’m just a big cuddle bug. Since moving to my foster home, I’ve already learned so much. At first, new people and unfamiliar situations still make me feel a bit unsure. That’s why I like to observe from a safe distance at first. But once I’m given the time I need, I start to trust and gradually reveal my wonderful personality. Then I thoroughly enjoy every petting, love snuggling more than anything, and relish every moment spent together with my humans. Among my favorite activities are leisurely walks, long naps—especially outdoors in the garden—and, of course, eating. I simply adore being brushed. If things ever get too hectic for me, I’ll briefly withdraw and come back on my own as soon as I’ve calmed down. On the leash, I’m a pleasant companion. I walk calmly, don’t pull, and thoroughly enjoy relaxed strolls. In unfamiliar situations, I’d love having people around who can give me security and lovingly guide me through everyday life. I get along wonderfully with other dogs—whether they’re male or female. I communicate clearly and friendly and fit right in with the pack. I’m also familiar with cats, though they hardly interest me at all. I really love children—but given my sensitive nature, they should be older and more calm. Of course, I’m fully house-trained. Staying alone is still being introduced to me very gently... A quiet home with patient people who’ll give me the time I need to settle in at my own pace would be perfect for me. A securely fenced-in garden would be an absolute dream for me, as that’s where I feel especially comfortable. My new family should take great joy in continuing to show me the world without overwhelming me. Once Rasmus has built up trust, you’ll gain an incredibly loving, loyal, and cuddly companion who’ll give his whole heart to his people. Rasmus can be visited by appointment at his foster home in 21680 Stade. A

About RASMUS

What life with RASMUS looks like

RASMUS is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting RASMUS, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RASMUS?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RASMUS on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RASMUS if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RASMUS already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RASMUS isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know RASMUS and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
