Raven

Female · Young · 1 year

Raven Leeds area Adoption fee is £300 1 year 9 months Mini Dachshund/ French Bulldog cross Chocolate and tan Female, neutered Raven is a friendly young girl who enjoys walks and playing. Due to an unexpected change in her owners’ circumstances, they have made the hard decision to find her a new home where she can receive the time and attention a young dog needs. Raven enjoys being around her family. She is cheeky, has a playful side and enjoys toys, especially those that squeak! She is food-motivated, with cheese being a favourite treat, and will happily investigate any unattended cup of tea given the chance. Raven lives with an older dog and enjoys playing tug-of-war or cuddling up with them. At home, Raven will usually only bark to let you know she needs to go outside or when someone arrives at the door. Occasionally she might bark during the night for a toilet break. She has experience around young children and is comfortable in their company. Raven loves her walks and enjoys being outdoors. She can be let off lead and is sociable with other dogs. She is in good health, visits the groomers every six weeks, and copes well with the experience. Raven is toilet trained, comfortable visiting the vet, and sleeps downstairs in the kitchen at night. She can be left for short periods in the company of the resident dog. Raven is looking for a home where she can continue to enjoy walks, play time and be part of the family. She has a lovely nature and will make a terrific addition to the right home. About Raven

What life with Raven looks like

Raven is a young adult dog waiting at The Red Foundation in Pentlow Street.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Raven, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Raven?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Red Foundation handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Raven on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Raven if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Red Foundation will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Raven already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Raven isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Red Foundation early rather than rehoming privately; they know Raven and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
