Reba

Rottweiler · Male · Senior · 10 years

Meet our senior Rottweiler Reba, over 10 years old. Due to personal circumstances of his previous owner, the care for Reba was transferred to us. The first days, Reba was a bit overwhelmed by all the changes. Now he is fortunately recovering well and we can see his true character coming back. Reba is a social dog who likes to be around people. He clearly enjoys being outside and gladly goes for walks with you. Because of his age, Reba has some age-related problems. He has difficulty walking and has had an ultrasound and blood tests. To support his joints, he receives daily pain relief, which makes a big difference in how he feels and moves. Also, his teeth were recently cleaned and some teeth have been removed. We are looking for a quiet and loving home without other pets and young children for Reba. He does best with people who have experience with dogs, preferably with the breed, who can closely monitor his health and provide the care and attention he deserves. Interested in Reba? Contact us via and mention in your motivation at least: affectionate girl who would like to be with you. Sensitive, eager to learn and brave when needed.

NL·Show original

Interesse in Reba?

About Reba

What life with Reba looks like

Reba is a large senior rottweiler dog waiting at Dierentehuis in Netherlands.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Reba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Reba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Reba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Reba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Reba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Reba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Reba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
