Rocky is a male mixed breed dog, approximately 39 cm tall and weighing around 13 kg. He was born around November 2018. Rocky has a history of living on a chain and was in very poor condition when he arrived at the shelter. He was emaciated and weak, and his fur was so matted that he could barely walk. At the shelter, he was freed from his matted fur, nursed back to health, and regained his strength. Rocky has likely had little to no positive human interaction in his life, so he was initially very unsure and defensive at the shelter. His trust had to be built up gradually and carefully. Rocky now allows his caregivers to pet him and can visibly enjoy their attention. Since he has not responded to auditory stimuli, the animal welfare organization assumes that he has a hearing impairment or is even deaf. His vision is also impaired. The small male dog copes well with his disability, but the daily life in the pack with the other dogs is too hectic for him. Therefore, he currently lives alone in a separate area at the shelter. Rocky urgently needs a quiet home where he can relax and where his physical limitations and special needs are taken into account. Due to his history, he needs patient people who give him the time he needs to settle in and build trust at his own pace. Rocky is being placed through Pfotenherz-Tierschutz mit Verstand e.V. Rasse: Mischling Geschlecht: männlich Geburtsdatum: ca. 11/2018 Größe: ca. 39 cm Gewicht: ca. 13 kg Rocky hat in der Vergangenheit an der Kette gelebt und war bei seiner Ankunft in einem sehr schlechten Zustand. Er war abgemagert und schwach. Sein Fell war so stark verfilzt, dass er kaum noch laufen konnte. Im Tierheim wurde er von seinem Filz befreit, aufgepäppelt und konnte wieder zu Kräften kommen. Da Rocky vermutlich in seinem bisherigen Leben kaum oder gar keinen positiven Kontakt zu Menschen erfahren hat, zeigte er sich im Tierheim anfangs stark verunsichert und abwehrend. Sein Vertrauen musste behutsam nach und nach aufgebaut werden. Inzwischen lässt sich Rocky von seinen Bezugspersonen streicheln und kann die Zuwendungen schon sichtlich genießen. Da er bislang nicht auf akustische Reize reagiert, gehen die Tierschützer davon aus, dass eine Hörbeeinträchtigung oder sogar Taubheit vorliegt. Auch sein Sehvermögen ist eingeschränkt. Der kleine Rüde kommt mit seinem Handicap gut zurecht, doch der Trubel mit den anderen Hunden im Rudel ist für ihn zu viel. Daher muss er aktuell alleine in einem abgetrennten Bereich im Tierheim leben. Für Rocky wird deshalb dringend ein ruhiges Zuhause gesucht, in dem er zur Ruhe kommen kann und auf seine körperlichen Einschränkungen und besonderen Bedürfnisse Rücksicht genommen wird. Aufgrund seiner Vorgeschichte braucht er geduldige die Menschen, die ihm die nötige Zeit geben, um anzukommen und in seinem eigenen Tempo Vertrauen zu fassen.
