Romi

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Romi is an absolutely adorable young pup who was left with his brother Petri in the rain at a worksite. Thankfully, the pups were found and taken in in time. Romi currently resides on the grounds of a friend of rescuer Matild, waiting for a loving home. Petri is also listed for adoption on our website. Romi is the black pup and will likely remain a small dog, standing about 25–35 cm tall. He is young, curious, and busy exploring the world. Additionally, he enjoys attention and finds it cozy to be with people and other dogs. In April 2026, our volunteers went to Romania. Petri and Romi were found and safely housed just a few days earlier. From the start, they were loving, curious, and enthusiastic about all the attention. With their soft fur and sweet faces, they won everyone over immediately. Romi is just at the beginning of his life and deserves the chance to grow up in a loving family instead of an animal shelter. With the right guidance, patience, and lots of love, he can grow into a fantastic house dog. All possibilities are still open for him. In short, Romi is looking for a warm place where he can grow up to be a happy and loved dog. He can travel from June 11th. Can he come and live with you? Photos and Video 30-05-2026 Romi is looking for a nice home ❤️ Size: expected to be around 30-35 cm / around 10 kg as an adult Born: estimated December 2025 Neutered: no, due to age Foster location: region of Sovata, Romania Cats: yes Horses: unknown Temperament: social, playful, affectionate, friendly We believe that with your help, Romi can develop into a nice house dog! He is doing well with his foster family in Romania. That said, he will also need to adjust to a new living environment. His new owner will be patient and will guide him well. Do you have serious interest in Romi? Fill out the intake form, which does not obligate you to anything. Upon receipt of the intake form, we will contact you as soon as possible.

About Romi

What life with Romi looks like

Romi is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Help een Hond in Netherlands.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Romi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Romi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Help een Hond handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Romi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Romi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Help een Hond will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Romi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Romi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Help een Hond early rather than rehoming privately; they know Romi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
