adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Ronja has found her home! Her story: Ronja's start in life was rough: together with her siblings, she was tossed over the fence of our animal shelter as a little puppy. While most of her siblings have already found loving families, Ronja still waits to be seen and loved. Despite this, Ronja is a female dog who can't be missed: lively, open, and full of energy, she charges through life—always ready to storm hearts. People meet her with great enthusiasm, sometimes even with a bit too much energy. But that's exactly what makes her special: Ronja is lively, friendly, playful—never pushy or unsure. She gets along well with other dogs, her cheerful nature making her a real enrichment for any pack. She lives up to her nickname "Ronja Räubertochter" not without reason—she is full of adventure and drive. We are looking for active people who will meet Ronja with joy, patience, and humor, who will nurture her with love and show her the world. A home that knows a young puppy not only brings joy but also time, education, and reliability. Contact us—Ronja is looking forward to her adventure life. Ronja is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has an EU pet passport. After a positive match, who will finally give our lively Ronja a home or a foster home? This dog will be rehomed together with the organization Arme Hundeseelen Rumänien. The double posting on both organizations' sides and possibly on advertising portals serves to increase her visibility and find her the right home faster. With the organization, there is a close exchange. Every inquiry for the dog is directly discussed and passed on. Status: 09.12.

About Ronja

What life with Ronja looks like

Ronja is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ronja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ronja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ronja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ronja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ronja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ronja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ronja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
