Adopt Roulis

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

The sad Roulis wandered alone through the streets of Aegina. Nobody who looked at him, nobody who could offer him a warm dog bed and good food, and above all, nobody who was interested in him. A homeless dog who probably would have eventually faced his sad end in a roadside ditch. But the story takes a good turn. Animal welfare workers became aware of Roulis and since he loves people more than anything, it was easy to convince him to follow them. Roulis has not regretted it. He enjoys the attention and cuddles at the animal shelter very much. Now all that's missing is his forever family. Roulis is a real sports star. He has a strong urge to move and clearly shows us that he wants to do a lot. But more important than all the action is Roulis being near us humans. If he could shrink and fit into a handbag, he would probably immediately take a spot between an umbrella and a wallet to be able to accompany his humans everywhere. Roulis is a fine guy. For the short time he has been with us, he already runs well on the leash, always looking at the person, as if he wants to check if he is doing everything right. He would certainly enjoy a few training sessions in the dog training classes and there he could really let off steam and learn a few things from other dog friends, whom Roulis also really likes. Roulis is not a sleepy pill, he wants attention and mental stimulation. For this reason, we are looking for active, sporty people who can do a lot with Roulis and give him the love he deserves. He would like to be the only prince in the family, so he doesn't have to share the attention. Who is looking for a sporting training partner with a wet nose? Roulis cannot be rehomed to Germany due to his breed.

About Roulis

What life with Roulis looks like

Roulis is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roulis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roulis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roulis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roulis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roulis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roulis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roulis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
