adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Roxy has found her luck! Her story: The start of life for our Roxy and her siblings Rookie, Bobby, Bounty, Roody, Jake, and Lykke did not go as beautifully as one could hope, as they were born under a bridge by our Salsa. Who can now give her a loving home? Roxy has beautiful, flowing fur and a sweet face. Just like her mother, she was born with a shortened tail and therefore cannot travel to Switzerland. However, the shortened tail does not hold her back at all. On the contrary: with her long ears and short legs, she makes every heart skip a beat. She is still very playful at around 4 months old and gets along well with her fellow animals and even knows cats. Otherwise, she has not yet experienced much in her life. Her new family should be aware that Roxy has not yet had the chance to experience life in a loving family. She still needs to learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of her. Here, she needs people who can approach her with much love and patience, and possibly also attend some positively working dog training classes with her and forgive her one or two mishaps. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone are still foreign words to her. During puberty, she will surely test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Roxy will definitely become a great lifelong partner. We hope so much that she can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for her. Roxy is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can travel after a positive foster home for the sweet girl would be wonderful! Who will give her a loving forever home? Many thanks to Natalie P.! You gave Roxy her name. Status: 29.10.

Vielen Dank an Natalie P.! Du hast Roxy ihren Namen geschenkt. About Roxy

What life with Roxy looks like

Roxy is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roxy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roxy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roxy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roxy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roxy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roxy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roxy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
