Roya

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Roya has found her forever home! Her story: Roya has settled in well in her foster home. In the house, she finds her way around after a few days: climbing stairs, hopping on the sofa, greeting all visitors with tail-wagging and demanding cuddles, playing with toys, and sniffing out treats. The little lady loves being on contact beds with her people. Since day 2, she has been house-trained and driving has been no problem either – a relaxed button and a great roommate. She runs around and explores the environment at any hour – the little elf mouse is always there. She orientates herself by people (bells or shuffling sounds help currently) and sniffs a lot. With unfamiliar or new/unheimlich things, Roya approaches with body contact to her person and listens first. If in doubt, she retreats, so she never charges forward. Her prey like leaves or twigs are sometimes brought home. During dog encounters, the little elf mouse is interested but cautious. She does not like rough contact. Signal words are practiced diligently to make her daily life more pleasant. Her eyes will be checked again at the animal clinic to ensure there are no obstacles to a home. Her puberty is not far off, and this is also a time for dogs when the foundations for the rest of their life are set. Patient and loving training will give her security, strengthen her self-confidence, and deepen the bond to her trusted people. Do you perhaps have a warm dog bed and a place in your heart for the little Roya? A small button, though blind but with big hearts, is searching for his Forever People. Contact us if you're interested. We are happy to answer any questions. After a positive match: Would you like to meet Roya? She insists on knuddles during the visit. A special thank you goes to the namesake Gritt, who gave the brave Roya her name and thus her own identity. As of: 08.11. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 08.11.2025

About Roya

What life with Roya looks like

Roya is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
