Rozika

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Rozika was originally found alone on the streets of Hungary. Initially, she was very uncertain around people and was difficult to catch. With a lot of patience, she developed into a friendly, lively and playful dog in the animal shelter who enjoys being close to her humans. Some time ago, Rozika left the shelter and believed she had finally found her forever home. Unfortunately, she was brought back after only a short time because living with the existing dog did not work out right away. Instead of giving her time to settle in and work on the situation together, Rozika lost her home again. Rozika is affectionate, attentive and full of life when interacting with people. She loves activities together and enjoys every form of attention. In the shelter, she gets along well with most dogs, but it shows that she likes having her humans' undivided attention. That's why we can imagine Rozika as a single dog particularly well. Rozika has already believed she had found happiness once. Now she is looking for people who will give her time, patience and love and show her that an forever home really deserves its name. Glück für Pfoten e.V. - The Way to a New Life - Tel. and WhatsApp: Mail: Adoption fee: €490 incl. safety harness Since we are employed, we may not be able to get back to you until some hours later. It's best to contact the above-mentioned mediator in writing (by e-mail or WhatsApp) first and ask for a callback (don't forget to mention your phone number if necessary). Please be patient! Our protégés travel with Traces and are only placed in Germany (nationwide). If you would like to apply for a dog and live in a rented accommodation, please arrange a written landlord's certificate stating that keeping an (additional or new) dog is allowed. We place dogs on the 2nd floor at most if there is no elevator to prevent health problems.

DE·Show original

About Rozika

What life with Rozika looks like

Rozika is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Glück für Pfoten e.V. in Dortmund.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rozika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rozika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glück für Pfoten e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rozika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rozika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glück für Pfoten e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rozika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rozika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glück für Pfoten e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rozika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
