Ruby

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Peace and quiet, little Ruby… Her story: The delicate Ruby is only about six months old and has already experienced a lot of hardship in her short life. She was found severely undernourished and underweight on the street. The young female dog was so weakened that she could barely move, and her left eye is also not in good condition. To Ruby's great fortune, she was rescued by our staff and taken in by Paul's Shelter. Here, she received veterinary care and can now start to regain her strength. But the abused, young female dog needs a lot of care and affection to become fully healthy, and therefore, we are particularly seeking highly engaged adopters who are ready to continue working on improving her condition. Ruby hopes for loving people who will embrace her, accept her as she is, and offer her a happy life. Ruby is a rather timid and reserved little mouse, but she seems to be slowly realizing that people here mean her well, as she is already allowing herself to be touched and stroked. She will surely gain new trust in a quiet and loving environment. Ruby currently has a slightly scruffy, white coat, shiny button eyes, and wonderful, large pricked ears and is likely to maintain a medium size. Ruby is a young, pitiable female dog that evokes our compassion. But like every dog, she will soon enter puberty and will need loving, but consistent training. Patient training will strengthen Ruby's self-confidence and the bond to her trusted people. Once Ruby is fully healthy again, she will surely want to experience many adventures with her people, spend enough time outdoors, and maintain a lot of contact with other dogs. Do you want to support Ruby on her journey to a good dog life and help her become fully healthy again? Then contact us! After a positive match: We heartily thank Ruby's namingsponsor Sandra, who chose the beautiful name for her and thus gave her a unique identity. As of: 25.01. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Ruhe in Frieden, kleine Ruby… Stand: 25.01.2025

About Ruby

What life with Ruby looks like

Ruby is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ruby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ruby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ruby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ruby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ruby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ruby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ruby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
