Rufus is a small dog with a big personality looking for a new loving home. His owner shares: "Rufus came to me in 2019 after being found wandering by the police. He was microchipped but no owner could be found. Rufus is a very affectionate and cuddly dog who trusts those he knows. He learns quickly, enjoys nose work and walks, and likes to accompany you on trips like to cafes. He doesn't shed much but needs regular grooming to avoid mats. DNA testing shows he has several breeds in him, including Yorkshire Terrier and Chihuahua. At dog encounters, he is curious and sometimes barks to greet. Cats are not his thing. Rufus is unsure with new people and needs space and understanding. He may approach you but that doesn't mean he wants petting. When visitors come to the home, he alerts and runs forward. Rufus lives with three children today. This works because he knows them well, but he would thrive much better in a quieter home without kids, their friends, or other visits. Rufus deserves the best, a calm home with plenty of time just for him." Rufus is about 25 centimeters tall at the shoulder and weighs 3 kilograms.
