Sabrina

Dachshund Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 6 years

I can live with dog-savvy older children who allow me time to settle in. I can be an only dog or live with other dogs. I have never met cats. I'd like a secure garden to potter around in. I haven't tried walks yet, a secure garden will be fine for now. Please be patient with me, I need to learn house training and lead walking. I have been spayed and am ready to find my forever home. 22-10-26 Sabrina is an excitable little girl who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She absolutely loves attention and gets very excited when she sees us passing her kennel, always hopeful that we will pop in to say hello. As soon as we enter, she is ready to jump up for fuss and show us just how happy she is to see us. Sabrina has a lovely, cheerful nature and is a real little bundle of joy. Sabrina doesn't mind being handled, and is growing in confidence daily. She can live with older, dog-savvy children who are sensible. Her adopters will need to have experience with her breed to better understand her needs. As Sabrina has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to give her time and encouragement as she adjusts to her new surroundings and discovers all the lovely things that come with being part of a family. Sabrina is such a happy, affectionate little girl who clearly loves being around people. We think she will be a delight to have in her future home, bringing plenty of joy, fun and cuddles to her lucky new family! Sabrina has been given the Gift of Life by Victoria Charlton Through the generosity of a Gift of Life sponsor, this dog was able to leave behind an uncertain future in Ireland and find safety and care at Many Tears. Every sponsorship helps us rescue and save more dogs in desperate need. If you would like to become part of a rescue story, please consider donating to our Gift of Life fund. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Sabrina

What life with Sabrina looks like

Sabrina is an adult dachshund dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sabrina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sabrina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sabrina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sabrina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sabrina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sabrina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sabrina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
