Saint

English Bulldog · Male · Adult · 4 years

Meet Saint our 4 year old French Bulldog! Little saint was given into Battersea due to a change in the owners personal circumstance. His history would suggest that he was a lovely boy, great with his owners and sociable with dogs when on walks, but lacked some manners around children as he can be too excited around them. Since he has been under our care, he has shown that he can be a little shy, but warms up to people very easily and quickly! Once he does know you he is a bundle of joy who loves to run around and play. Though Saint has been a delight to look after on-site, his history would suggest he may need some management and supervision within the home, Especially at the beginning. Which will come with some training he will need moving forward. For this reason he will need to go to a home where new owners would have some experience in dealing with Frenchies or dogs that can become very excitable. We are sure he will become a great addition to any home and family once settled into a new environment and routine. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Saint you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Saint

What life with Saint looks like

Saint is a small adult english bulldog dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Saint, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Saint?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Saint on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Saint if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Saint already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Saint isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Saint and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
