Sakari

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Saturday is a beautiful girl who has already been through so much in her young life. She was rescued from a kill shelter where she was so frightened that she even urinated when lifted to safety. Despite this heartbreaking start, Saturday has shown just how resilient and loving she can be. She can be shy at first, but once she feels safe she gently comes out of her shell. She has a calm, quiet nature and enjoys soft attention and the comfort of kind, patient company. Saturday is not a particularly playful dog and much prefers a peaceful environment where she can relax and feel secure. She would be happiest as an only dog, or possibly with a calm, well-balanced companion who will respect her space. Saturday is looking for a patient and understanding family who can offer her the stability she deserves. Because she is still scared of the lead, she will need a secure garden where she can relax and explore safely. She could happily live with children over the age of 12 and could also live with cats, provided they are introduced slowly and kindly. At just two years old and weighing 25kg, Saturday has her whole life ahead of her. She is ready to leave her past behind and blossom into the loving, loyal companion she is meant to be. All she needs is a family willing to give her that second chance. Could Saturday be the missing piece in your home?

About Sakari

What life with Sakari looks like

Sakari is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at O.U.R. Dog Foundation.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sakari, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sakari?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. O.U.R. Dog Foundation handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sakari on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sakari if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — O.U.R. Dog Foundation will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sakari already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sakari isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with O.U.R. Dog Foundation early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sakari and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
