Placement Requirements | Placement Process | Request Information About This Animal Now! Samira has found her people! Her story: Small and compact—that’s the sweet Samira. She stands just 36 cm tall and weighs only 7 kg. She was rescued from the public shelter in Zalau, where animals are still being euthanized today. Samira is a little ray of sunshine, and anyone who gets to meet her in person is immediately smitten. She’s very people-oriented and friendly, and she loves being petted. She enjoys being active and is curious about exploring her surroundings. She also gets along well with other dogs. Simply put, she’s a true dream dog. Samira is just two years old, and although she hasn’t had much life experience yet, she’s managed to retain her charm, her open heart, and her sweet personality. Of course, Samira still has a lot to learn, but she’s already mastered walking on a leash and wearing a harness with flying colors. Therefore, we’re confident that she’ll quickly pick up all the other basics of dog ownership as well. Samira is a friendly and open-hearted dog who will surely settle into her new family quickly and soon become indispensable to everyone. Would you like Samira to become part of your family? Then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. Of course, we’d also be very grateful for the possibility of a temporary foster home. Samira travels to her new family spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea- and worm-treated. She already has her EU pet passport ready and is just waiting for her people. After a positive pre-check and payment of the adoption fee of €500, Samira can travel to her new family. Many thanks to Michaela S.! Thanks to your sponsorship, Samira finally has a lovely name—and with it, an identity. As of April 12, 2026

Stand: 12.04.2026

About Samira

What life with Samira looks like

Samira is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Samira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Samira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Samira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Samira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Samira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Samira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Samira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
