adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Savannah currently lives in the Shelter in Bistrița and has not only won us over, but the entire team as well. The little female dog is simply unbelievably cute and brings everything you could want in a puppy. Already at the first meeting, her incredibly soft fur catches the eye. In fact, Savannah is currently the softest dog in the entire shelter, and one would like to cuddle her all the time. To that add her open gaze, her cute demeanor, and her puppy-like zest for life, which immediately puts a smile on your face. She currently measures around 20 cm and weighs about 3 kg. When fully grown, she is likely to be medium-sized. Due to her appearance, we cannot rule out the possibility of her having genes for hat- or stove-guarding dogs. Savannah shows herself to be friendly, curious, and alert. She wants to be everywhere, bravely explores her surroundings, and plays with great enthusiasm. Of course, she will also occasionally nibble on hands, shoes, or pant legs. She is simply just playful and full of energy. She meets people openly and lovingly, and also gets along well with other dogs. Savannah came to the shelter with her sister Ally. Unfortunately, Ally did not make it. We do not know the exact details of her past. The more we wish that Savannah does not have to grow up in the shelter but finds a loving home quickly. Of course, as such a young puppy, Savannah still comes with a lot of work. She is not yet familiar with life in a home and must learn things like house training, leash walking, or being alone. Puppies need a lot of time, patience, and a loving, consistent presence. Also, the later puberty should not be underestimated, as boundaries are tested and learned things are often questioned again. Her future family should be eager to grow with a young puppy and show her the world step by step. A visit to a positively working dog training class can be a helpful support and help build a good foundation for everyday life together. For Savannah, we wish for people who are happy with an active, cheerful puppy and are willing to invest time, patience, and love in her development. Savannah travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with her EU pet passport to her new home. Who will give this fluffy little magic mouse the chance at a happy doggy life? Many thanks to namesake Sarah, who gave Savannah her name and thus a chance at a new life. As of: 18.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 18.05.2026

About Savannah

What life with Savannah looks like

Savannah is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Savannah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Savannah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Savannah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Savannah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Savannah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Savannah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Savannah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
