Savio

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 2 months

Savio, a playful and curious 8-week-old puppy, needs a loving home. He has a friendly and affectionate nature, and his dark coat is accented with white markings on his chest and paws. His ears are still in the process of finding their balance, and he has a charming, puppy-like appearance. Savio is likely to grow into a medium-sized dog, possibly with a hint of herding dog ancestry. If he inherits these traits, he could become an intelligent, active, and loyal companion who forms a strong bond with his owners. Herding dogs are known for their attention, eagerness to learn, and need for mental stimulation. Savio would likely enjoy long walks, exploration, and games, and may eventually participate in dog sports. By giving Savio a home, you'll not only gain a young companion but also the rewarding task of guiding him through his journey to adulthood. Many aspects of puppyhood will be new to him, and he will need patience, calmness, and steady guidance, especially during his exciting teenage years. Savio is friendly and open to other dogs and has already met cats, showing a relaxed and tolerant attitude towards them. He is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and comes with an EU pet passport. Due to his age, he has not yet been neutered. If you can provide Savio with a loving home, you'll be making his world a bit bigger and, most importantly, a lot better.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Savio

What life with Savio looks like

Savio is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Savio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Savio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Savio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Savio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Savio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Savio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Savio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
