Schafdame Lotti

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 7 years

An almost unbelievable story led sheep Lotti to the Tierlebenshof. In some communities in our immediate vicinity, there is a questionable "tradition" for the Kerb (Kirmes): a lamb is the Kerb Mascot. This means the lamb must walk in the festival parade and is awarded on the last Kerb day as the highlight of the festival. Even Lotti (born in 2019) fell victim to this questionable tradition. She ended up in a sheep herd and was initially not meant to be slaughtered. Then, for some inexplicable reason, Lotti was meant to be slaughtered. This was only prevented because the "winner" of the draw wanted to use Lotti again as the Kerb Sheep. When we found out, our anger was immense, and we wanted to help Lotti desperately. In the end, we managed to buy Lotti out. Yes, we bought her. We know that not everyone understands this. But we asked ourselves: "What does a life cost?" Should we use the money or should we leave Lotti to her uncertain fate according to the principle that one should not buy animals? We decided for Lotti, and we have never regretted it. Lotti is a charming sheep with a lot of personality. She is very friendly and enjoys being stroked. As can be seen in the pictures, Lotti is a bit of a glutton. She loves snacks more than anything! She spends her days with the other sheep on the pasture and enjoys her life in safety and freedom with us. Patenschaft übernehmen "" : " "" : "ImageGallery", "id" : " "url" : ""

DE·Show original

Frequently asked

Adopting Schafdame Lotti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Schafdame Lotti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierlebenshof Hunsrück-Mosel e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Schafdame Lotti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Schafdame Lotti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierlebenshof Hunsrück-Mosel e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Schafdame Lotti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Schafdame Lotti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierlebenshof Hunsrück-Mosel e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Schafdame Lotti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
