Adopt Schäfer x Border Collie

Border Collie · Male · Young · 3 years

Breed: Schäfer x Border Collie Color: Black-Brown Age: June 8, 2023 Gender: male Neutered: yes Surrender Reason: wants to be a single dog Personality: Buddy Nox came to me as a very stressed out puppy who had already experienced a lot of unwanted events because all of his many owners were overwhelmed with him. Now, he is a real dream dog! Buddy Nox is compatible with cats in the house, although he tries to hunt cats outside. He is okay with large children, but he gets very stressed with smaller ones. Staying alone works moderately, but he is making great progress. Buddy Nox knows the Dog ABC, is eager to learn, and would rather not be far from his owner. The mixed-breed male dog is very athletic and immediately enthusiastic about any dog sport. His only deficit is that he barks in new situations. However, he can be corrected and calmed. Why the mixed-breed male dog cannot stay with me: Buddy Nox is not suitable for pack husbandry. While he is compatible with dogs outside, he wants to be a single dog in his home. For tips, I am available to the new owners at any time. Buddy Nox can be visited at our area at 3157 Milken. Country of Origin (where the dog is currently located): Switzerland Breeding Country: Germany Contact Address:. Suitable only for households with older children.

Rasse: Schäfer x Border Collie Farbe: Schwarz-Braun Alter: 8. About Schäfer x Border Collie

What life with Schäfer x Border Collie looks like

Schäfer x Border Collie is a medium-sized young adult border collie dog waiting at Berner Tierzentrum in Switzerland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Schäfer x Border Collie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Schäfer x Border Collie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Berner Tierzentrum handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Schäfer x Border Collie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Schäfer x Border Collie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Berner Tierzentrum will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Schäfer x Border Collie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Schäfer x Border Collie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Berner Tierzentrum early rather than rehoming privately; they know Schäfer x Border Collie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
