Adopt Broly

Border Collie · Male · Adult · 8 years

🐾 Broly is looking for a forever home 🐾 Broly is a beautiful 8-year-old Border Collie currently searching for a new loving and experienced home. Unfortunately, his past is unknown to us. Broly was seized from his previous owner, and we have had no contact with them. Despite this, he is now very close to humans and enjoys moments of companionship. Very playful, Broly loves balls and could spend hours running after and bringing them back with enthusiasm. Although he is elderly, he remains a dynamic dog who will need daily physical and mental activities to be happy. He also has a good basic education. 🐶 His interactions: • Social with other animals of the same species, although some vigilance will be necessary during play due to a slight resource protection. • Cats interest him greatly and he might be tempted to chase them. • Broly does not tolerate contact with children. He will therefore be placed exclusively in a child-free home. 🥣 Health and diet: Broly has a sensitive stomach and will need an appropriate diet. ⚠️ Placement: Due to his likely difficult past and specific needs, Broly will not be placed as a first dog. A good understanding of the dog and the Border Collie breed will be essential to provide him with a stable and balanced living environment. 📞 Contact at 67. ❌ No private messages, emails, or requests via social media will be processed. This animal is not suitable for homes with young children. This animal is for adult-only homes. Note: this animal shows resource guarding.

About Broly

What life with Broly looks like

Broly is a adult border collie dog waiting at SPA Valais in Uvrier.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Broly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Broly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SPA Valais handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Broly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Broly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SPA Valais will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Broly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Broly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SPA Valais early rather than rehoming privately; they know Broly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
