Schnurrsula

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 9 years

Hello, my name is Schnurrsula. I was found in a very poor condition, running free, and brought to the animal shelter. I am a very friendly, approachable, and cuddly cat. As my name suggests, I am a big licker and immediately get my engine running. Otherwise, I am generally relaxed on the go, and I like to lie in cozy places. At the animal shelter, I am currently alone in a room, but my animal caretakers believe that I get along well with other cats. Unfortunately, I bring a few health issues with me. I seem to have an environmental allergy, which is why my belly is sometimes bare. It hasn't been determined what I am allergic to, but it doesn't cause me too many problems. Additionally, I suffer from FLUTD, which is a bladder disease that many cats have; I need special food or food supplements. Furthermore, I had a large ulcer in my mouth, which was removed during an operation and turned out to be benign. I am looking for a quiet home suitable for apartment living with people who would like to cuddle with me. A quiet older cat can already live with you, but that is not necessary. If you would like to meet me, please contact the animal shelter!.

Deine Schnurrsula

About Schnurrsula

What life with Schnurrsula looks like

Schnurrsula is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein St. Pölten in St. Pölten.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Schnurrsula, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Schnurrsula?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein St. Pölten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Schnurrsula on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Schnurrsula if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein St. Pölten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Schnurrsula already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Schnurrsula isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein St. Pölten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Schnurrsula and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
