SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂

Mixed Breed · Male

Scotty is a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel. I have always lived with my previous owner until my epilepsy diagnosis changed our daily life. But my epilepsy does not define the dog I am, I am a true lover of love! I am a joyful, playful, curious, and dynamic Cocker. I love long walks, running, exploring, following scents, and swimming. On walks, I am a pleasant dog, I have a very good recall and I do not run away. I am very comfortable everywhere, I like to accompany my humans in their activities and I travel well by car. However, I have a weakness: food! And let me tell you, with me, I am capable of picking up anything that resembles, from near or far, something edible. I am a Cocker who likes to give his opinion! I bark to solicit my humans and it remains a learning to be pursued to help me better manage my emotions. I am intelligent, greedy, and particularly receptive when you take the time. With other dogs, I am sociable and I appreciate meetings on walks. At home, things are a bit different. I love my humans very much and I can have trouble sharing, I will be more comfortable as the only dog in the household. I love human presence so much that departures are still very difficult to live. A desensitization work has been undertaken but this learning will take time, regularity, and a lot of patience. I have idiopathic epilepsy, a chronic neurological disease that requires daily treatment administered at fixed times, morning and evening. This regularity is essential and even if my seizures are not daily, they are still possible. My epilepsy is part of my life, but it does not define who I am. I have especially five years of love to catch up, an impressive amount of hugs to distribute, and many adventures to share. All I need now is humans ready to commit to my side!

About SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂

What life with SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂ looks like

SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂ is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Ron'Rhône in Lyon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Ron'Rhône handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Ron'Rhône will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Ron'Rhône early rather than rehoming privately; they know SCOTTY – 5 ans – ♂ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
