Shark

Male · Young · 3 years

Shark is a large, affectionate tomcat with an exceptionally friendly disposition. He is very people-oriented and enjoys forming close bonds with humans. He is one of those cats who knows exactly how to seize every opportunity for a moment of closeness. Shark loves petting and enjoys spending time with people. He is outgoing, sociable, and very friendly, so it quickly becomes apparent how much he enjoys the company of humans. He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a cat that is relationship-oriented and enjoys spending time together. We believe that Shark will quickly settle into his new life in his own home and be able to fully enjoy the company of humans. We are looking for a home where he will be surrounded by care, peace, and of course, plenty of petting. We invite you to fill out the pre-adoption questionnaire and visit the shelter with the completed questionnaire: Before adopting, make sure your home/apartment is safe and properly prepared for a new family member. Note: When adopting a cat or considering adoption, be sure to bring a cat carrier or transport bag for transporting cats. If you have a resident cat, bring the results of FIV and FeLV tests.

About Shark

What life with Shark looks like

Shark is a small young adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Shark, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Shark?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Shark on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Shark if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Shark already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Shark isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Shark and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
