Adopt Sheba

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Hello everyone, My name is Sheba, I am here to find my fur-ever home. Did you know: A tabby cat’s defining characteristic is the letter M’s presence on the cat’s forehead between the ears. It will also have stripes by the eyes and across the cheeks My personality: I am a quiet girl who will hide away but once I realise you are here to give me love I am super confident! If you are extra lucky I will cuddle up on your knee and have a fuss. I am still getting used to my temporary life here at Rain so the humans are getting to know me as the days pass and my personality shines. My ideal home: I would like a calm home that is not too busy, I have lived with cats before and could do again potentially after slow introductions, I have never lived with dogs before and I haven’t been around young children. Access to outdoors: Once I have settled I would like the opportunity to have access to explore the big wide world. Toileting: I am litter trained and at I prefer grit litter. My adoption fee is £125

About Sheba

What life with Sheba looks like

Sheba is a large adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sheba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sheba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sheba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sheba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sheba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sheba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sheba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
