Sid

Border Collie · Male · Young · 1 year

Sid is a wonderful lad who has heaps of potential. He eager to learn and will always try to please. He may need some support with things such as housetraining and learning how to spend time home alone, but we're confident it wont take him long to figure things out and start to settle. If you're on the search for a loving companion and adventure buddy, Sid might just be your boy! Handsome Sid has come into our care with not much know about his previous history. This sweet boy isn't quite as confidence as he seems, so would love to find adopters who can help him flourish. Sid could live with secondary aged children who can understand his worries and give him any time and space he might need. Sid has been friendly when meeting other dogs and we think he could happily live with a dog in his new home following a meeting here at the centre. He's a fun loving and active boy, being a Collie cross he certainly likes to keep busy, both mentally and physically so it's important that his new family are committed to keeping him stimulated. Sid LOVES to play and LOVES toys, so this is a perfect way to positively teach him lots of new things. He would like thrive in a home that enjoys long walk, adventures and would likely love trying his paws at something like agility.

About Sid

What life with Sid looks like

Sid is a young adult border collie dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sid, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sid?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sid on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sid if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sid already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sid isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sid and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
