Simba

Belgian Malinois · Male · Young · 2 years

April 27, 2026 Welcome, dear treasure, you have made it to the start of a happy future. When I last saw Simba, he was cruelly abandoned by his owner. It was a betrayal of his best friend, and the poor young Rüde was completely knocked off balance. Our Spanish friends have done wonderful work in the meantime. Simba is unrecognizable. He is friendly and shows openness and even joy towards people. In Spain, he even got to go for a walk with a family and a 10-year-old boy, unfortunately, they had no way to adopt the beloved male dogs. With other dogs, he shows some initial insecurity and nervousness, but this fades during the walk, and I am sure we can further develop his social skills. I am very happy that Simba is now in safety, and I am convinced that we will soon find loving, consistent people who will support his positive development. October 10, 2025 Simba is a 1-year-old Malinois male dog who was tragically abandoned by his owner at the shelter parking lot after he had previously beaten him. At first, he shows some suspicion, but he has clearly improved. Today, he presents himself as an active, playful, and eager-to-learn young dog who especially loves playing with the ball. When he comes out of the kennel, he is a bit excited and likes to nibble on the leash or the toy, but nothing that would be hard to manage. Cats are not among his friends. We report again.

About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a young adult belgian malinois dog waiting at Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten in Arme Pfoten.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
