Sleepy

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 3 months

Sleepy was from the very beginning completely smitten with people. When you pet him, he starts purring delightfully. He is a beautiful and sweet boy with an active and curious character. If something happens, Sleepy is there like a hawk: he has to be at the forefront with his nose! He loves to play and wrestle and can then be very energetic and enthusiastic. Sleepy enjoys cuddling, but then he likes to go on an adventure or play again. He is a lovely adventurous boy who likes to be in the middle of family life. For Sleepy we are looking for a cozy household where there is plenty of time and attention for him, with someone always around who wants to play with him or stroke him. He can be placed with children from 6 years. In the long term, Sleepy would like to go outside to explore the quiet neighborhood.

Ga terug

About Sleepy

What life with Sleepy looks like

Sleepy is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Dierentehuis Arnhem in Netherlands.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sleepy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sleepy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Arnhem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sleepy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sleepy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis Arnhem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sleepy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sleepy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Arnhem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sleepy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
