Our little scamp Snappy is unfortunately one of our long-term residents at the animal shelter - and yet or just because of that he is loved by everyone. The 10-year-old Terrier mix is a great companion outside. He masters walks confidently, shows good manners and is a well-behaved dog. He enjoys the outdoors and shared activities. At home, Snappy is more of a "roommate" type. He needs people who accept him as he is, give him his space and don't have too high expectations of him. Over the years, Snappy has become much calmer and now enjoys the occasional cuddle - but these should always come from him and with the necessary sensitivity. Snappy can also become aggressive in certain situations and bite. Therefore, we are looking for a stable, dog-experienced home for him with people who can read his body language, respect his boundaries and approach him with calmness, consistency and understanding. Children should not live in the household. Whoever gets to know Snappy and is willing to accept him as he is will get a strong-willed dog by their side, who with the right people will surely have many more beautiful years.

Unser kleiner Rabauke Snappy ist leider einer unserer Dauergäste im Tierheim – und trotzdem oder gerade deshalb wird er von allen ins Herz geschlossen. Der 10-jährige Terrier-Mix ist draußen ein toller Begleiter. Spaziergänge meistert er souverän, zeigt gute Manieren und ist ein gut erzogener Hund. In der Natur fühlt er sich wohl und genießt gemeinsame Unternehmungen. Im Haus ist Snappy dagegen eher der Typ "Mitbewohner". Er braucht Menschen, die ihn so akzeptieren, wie er ist, ihm seinen Freiraum lassen und keine allzu hohen Erwartungen an ihn stellen. Mit den Jahren ist Snappy zwar deutlich ruhiger geworden und genießt mittlerweile auch die eine oder andere Kuscheleinheit – diese sollten jedoch immer von ihm ausgehen und mit dem nötigen Feingefühl erfolgen. Snappy kann in bestimmten Situationen auch nach vorne gehen und beißen. Deshalb suchen wir für ihn ein standfestes, hundeerfahrenes Zuhause bei Menschen, die seine Körpersprache lesen können, seine Grenzen respektieren und ihm mit Ruhe, Konsequenz und Verständnis begegnen. Kinder sollten nicht im Haushalt leben. Wer Snappy kennenlernt und bereit ist, ihn so anzunehmen, wie er ist, bekommt einen charakterstarken Hund an seine Seite, der mit den richtigen Menschen sicherlich noch schöne Jahre verbringen kann.
