When you first meet him, he tucks his tail in and acts super scared. He whimpers and over-dramatizes. That's why Socke isn't ideal for beginners, but rather for dog lovers who can handle our little actor and show him calmly what's right and what's not. With his own kind, Socke is forward and sometimes a bit rough. Generally, getting a dog, and especially a puppy, should be well thought out. This starts with small things you should pay attention to when a young animal moves in. Of course, everyone in the family should be on board and know that things can get pretty turbulent for a few months. The puppy may not be fully house-trained yet. Check and possibly remove electrical cords and toxic plants. Puppies love to chew on everything. Certain foods like chocolate, grapes, or cleaning supplies should be out of reach for the new family member. Steep stairs might be too steep at first, so you might want to secure them.
