Sokki

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 7 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Sokki is an approximately five-month-old puppy currently living in a foster home in Bistrița. Despite his young age, he has already been through quite a bit. He was found with a shin fracture and had to undergo surgery. The operation went well, and Sokki is in the process of recovering. In his daily life, he shows a cheerful, energetic disposition and seems barely affected by the injury. However, one should still be cautious in his new home to ensure he does not become overly wild or overly stressed until he is fully healed. Character-wise, Sokki is a very friendly, affectionate, and open young male dog. He approaches people openly, seeks contact, and enjoys attention. With other dogs, he is playful and social, and he also meets cats with friendliness and curiosity. Age-appropriately, he wants to play, explore, and get to know the world. At five months old, Sokki is still in the puppy stage. He still needs to learn the entire dog ABC. House training, leash manners, being left alone, and everyday routines are things that need to be built up step by step. His future people should be ready to bring time, patience, and structure, and to accompany him lovingly. He is also still ahead of puberty. During this phase, boundaries are tested, rules are questioned, and previously learned things may seem forgotten. This is normal, but it requires consistency, patience, and a calm approach. Training with positive reinforcement, clear structures, and reliable trusted people is important. A positively working dog training class can be a great support and strengthen the bond at the same time. Since Sokki is still young and has already undergone an operation, he should be exercised both physically and mentally without being overburdened. Calm walks, search games, small training sessions, and shared explorations are ideal for promoting him both mentally and physically. Sokki is looking for people who are aware that a young dog means work but also brings incredible joy. Those who accompany him as he grows will have a friendly, social, and lively companion by their side. Sokki travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with his EU pet passport to his new home. Age-wise, he is not yet neutered. Who will give this brave young pup the chance for a carefree dog life? Many thanks to Namenspatin Bea, who gave Sokki his name and thus a new chance. As of: 15.04. Some symptoms here are age-related.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 15.05.2026

About Sokki

What life with Sokki looks like

Sokki is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sokki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sokki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sokki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sokki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sokki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sokki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sokki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
