Adopt Sola

Podenco · Female · Senior · 11 years

Sola is a podenco girl and a sweet senior lady with a heart full of love. She was found in a terrible condition, and thanks to the Seprona (the Guardia Civil in Spain), we were able to ensure that all the dogs in need, including her, came to us to receive the care, love, and medication they desperately required. At first, Sola was extremely scared; she had probably never had contact with people and was not socialized. But she has come such a long way! She becomes so happy when she sees people: she wags her tail, runs around in joy, walks perfectly on the lead, and loves to be close to you. New people need to give her a little time to earn her trust, but once Sola knows you, she is your very best friend.Sola is also very good with other dogs and can live happily with other four-legged friends. This wonderful little dog deserves to experience, even in her senior years, what it is like to live in a loving home. She deserves a warm family that can give her security, attention, and love, so she can enjoy her golden years full of happiness and affection.

About Sola

What life with Sola looks like

Sola is a medium-sized senior podenco dog waiting at PAWS-PATAS Animal Shelter in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PAWS-PATAS Animal Shelter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PAWS-PATAS Animal Shelter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PAWS-PATAS Animal Shelter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
