Sooty entered our care as a young kitten suffering from cat flu. After some time being unwell in our care and recovering from cat flu, Sooty is now ready to find himself his new home. This handsome boy is quite possibly the friendliest, most loving boy you’ll ever meet. He adores his people and would happily be your little shadow all day long! When he’s not busy being the ultimate cuddle bug, he loves to play, particularly chasing his favourite string toys, putting his impressive hunting skills to work. Sooty is always full of energy and has a curious personality, making him a complete character, as he really does love to be involved in everything going on around him, making him the perfect companion! Sooty would love a new home where his family is at home most of the day as he thrives on human companionship. Sooty is a special boy who may need a little extra care as he has hip dysplasia on his right side and a ruptured right cruciate, this can sometimes cause him to walk a little slower or move in his own unique way. However, Sooty doesn’t let this hold him back! He is still able to get around, jump and climb in his own way. Due to this, Sooty will need to remain on joint supplements for the rest of his life, and he may require pain relief on and off to help keep him comfortable. As he gets older, he will also be more prone to developing arthritis, so ongoing veterinary care will be important. Sooty must be kept as an indoor-only cat. He is looking for a loving, understanding home with someone who is committed to ensuring he receives the veterinary care he requires throughout his life. In return, Sooty has so much love to give and will reward his person with plenty of love and affection. Sooty would be best suited in a home with children over 12 years of age who are used to cats. Sooty has enjoyed the company of other kittens in our care and we believe he could possibly share his home with another cat with gradual introductions in the home. It is unknown how he would react around dogs.
