Sox

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Young Β· 2 years

BREED: Domestic short hair IDEAL HOME: access to the outdoors LIVING WITH CHILDREN: I could live with children 6 years plus LIVING WITH DOGS: I prefer not to live with dogs LIVING WITH CATS: I would prefer to be the only cat in the household Sox is an approximately 2-year-old female who came into our care heavily pregnant and soon gave birth to eight beautiful kittens. She has been a wonderful mum, raising her babies brilliantly, and now that her mothering duties are behind her, it’s time for Sox to find a loving forever home of her own. Sox is a super-affectionate girl who absolutely loves attention and is always ready for plenty of fuss, cuddles and affection. She has a lovely friendly temperament and is a real sweetheart who will make a wonderful companion. After raising her kittens, Sox became a little run down and developed a mild bout of cat flu. Thankfully, she recovered quickly and bounced back beautifully. However, potential adopters should be aware that cat flu can sometimes flare up again during periods of stress. Given Sox’s lovely nature and friendly personality, we hope she will settle well into her new home, although flare-ups can never be completely ruled out. Sox is used to having outdoor access, so she will need a home where she can safely enjoy the outdoors. Her new home must be in a suitable area away from busy roads and high-traffic areas to help keep her safe. 🐾 Sox’s ideal home: A loving home where she can enjoy plenty of attention and affection. Outdoor access in a safe area, well away from main roads and heavy traffic. A family with children aged 6 years and over. A home where she can be the only pet, as Sox would prefer not to share her home with other animals. Sox has been a wonderful mum to her eight kittens, and now it’s her turn to be thoroughly loved and cherished. Could you be the one to give this lovely girl the forever home she deserves? About Sox

What life with Sox looks like

Sox is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at SARA Ann Prosser Foundation in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SARA Ann Prosser Foundation handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” SARA Ann Prosser Foundation will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Sox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SARA Ann Prosser Foundation early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
