Stijn

Unknown · Adult · 4 years

Stijn may look tough, but those who get to know him quickly discover a soft cat who loves attention. He's happy to make time for a cuddle. He can really enjoy it and lets himself be pampered. Stijn was born around April 17, 2022 and came to Hokazo as a stray. He feels comfortable among the other cats in his enclosure. He's also happy to move for wet food. As soon as it's on the menu, he leaves his bed with pleasure. A cat who values his rest, but is not too bad to get up for something tasty and some extra attention. For Stijn we are looking for a quiet home where he can be himself. He can possibly be placed with older children. Dogs are not a good combination for him. Another cat is possible, but then it's about a cat that, just like Stijn, is FIV-positive. Stijn is FIV-positive. This means that his resistance may be a bit lower. Cats with FIV can still live a nice and long life. Because of his FIV, Stijn is not allowed to walk freely outside. A safe indoor environment is therefore best suited to him. Who can offer Stijn a quiet home, tasty meals and especially lots of cuddles, gives this tough appearance all the space to show his soft side. Interested in Stijn? Mail then to tav. Stijn.

NL·Show original

Stijn is FIV-positief. Interesse in Stijn? Mail dan naar tav. About Stijn

What life with Stijn looks like

Stijn is a adult cat waiting at Hokazo in Uden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stijn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stijn?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hokazo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stijn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stijn if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hokazo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stijn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stijn isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hokazo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stijn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
