Adopt Stina

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

animal rescuer: Mădălina Militaru born: approximately summer 2022 Gender: female Location: Romania spayed: yes FIV test: negative FeLV test: negative Disabilities: no compatible with: Children: not known Cats: no Dogs: no Requirements: Single housing only suitable for apartment living, NO outdoor access Balcony or terrace absolutely necessary - security required Stina was born together with her sister under a bush on Mădălina's campsite. Stina's mother, probably a wild Bengal cat, raised the sisters outside. Stina and her sister were initially shy, but soon gained trust in Mădălina. A tragic event changed everything: Stina's sister lost her life when she came too close to a neighbor's pigeons. To protect Stina from the same danger, she was immediately secured. Stina now lives in a shed on the campsite, which is not a place where Stina can stay forever. The beautiful Stina is an inquisitive explorer who observes everything around her carefully. There is still a small, "wild" core inside her, but her gentle side prevails: She loves the company of humans very much and is a passionate cuddler. As soon as she sees our animal rescuer, she greets her with great enthusiasm and excitedly "tells" about her day to get her beloved cuddles. Stina enjoys every affection to the fullest and is an absolutely loyal companion. Because Stina was unfortunately attacked by other cats more often in the past, she has great fear of fellow animals and avoids them. Therefore, we are looking for a place where she can be the beloved single princess with the throne all to herself. Stina wishes for a loving home where she can be spoiled to her heart's content. Since she loves fresh air, a secured balcony or a secured terrace is a must - she would also be very happy with Catwalks and tall scratching posts. Her new humans ideally have a lot of time for her and are not away for too long. If there are children in the family, they should be older. Stina is now eagerly waiting to finally pack her suitcase!

About Stina

What life with Stina looks like

Stina is a extra-large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
