Hometown: Romania. Breed: mixed breed. Gender: male, neutered. Color: light brown-blackShoulder height: 45 cmDate of birth: around March 2025Location: 91358 Kunreuth Stöpsel – a cheerful charmer with a big heart, may we introduce? This is Stöpsel – about 1 year old, a beautifully marked male dog with just the right size to be everywhere. With his friendly gaze and open nature, he conquers hearts in a storm. A real looker – and a truly great character dog. Stöpsel is already house-trained and walks well on a leash. He shows attentiveness, intelligence, and an especially eager-to-learn attitude. New things excite him, he observes closely, and he participates with enthusiasm – perfect prerequisites for those who enjoy learning and growing with their dog. Stöpsel also gets along very well with other dogs and enjoys their company. A pre-existing dog buddy would certainly be a nice addition for him. As for cats and children, there are no previous experiences. Stöpsel brings everything one could wish for in a young companion: curiosity, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a loving nature. With the right people by his side, he will develop into a wonderful family dog who attentively accompanies his people and brings them much joy. Who would like to show this charming young male dog how wonderful his own home can be? Contact: Conny NeubauerEmail: Our dogs are vaccinated (rabies and 2x basic immunization), microchipped, and equipped with the EU pet passport at our expense (we cover the lab fees) tested for common Mediterranean diseases: Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, leishmaniasis, rickettsiae, filariasis, hepatozoonosis, anaplasmosis. About Stöpsel

What life with Stöpsel looks like

Stöpsel is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. in Oberwies.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stöpsel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stöpsel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stöpsel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stöpsel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stöpsel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stöpsel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stöpsel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
